ROTARIANS MOVE TO HELP

Castle Hill Rotary Club’s Help us help Beirut rise again campaign has raised over $3000 already to help rebuild a children’s unit at St George’s Hospital.

A dinner at the Two Brothers Restaurant in Castle Hill on Thursday night (October 7) has almost doubled the appeal amount. The massively destructive explosion in Beirut on August 4 came in the midst of the pandemic and on top of the economic collapse due to unrest and political instability in Lebanon.

The funds will be sent to the Rotary District Disaster Relief Committee in Beirut, to be directly used by Rotarians on the ground.

Michel Jazzar from the Rotary Club of Kesrouan, Lebanon who is also Chairman of the Rotary District Disaster Relief Committee spoke to people at the fundraiser via Zoom during the night saying the help was much needed.

He said he was very grateful to Rotarians in Australia and around the world. The Two Brothers, Louis and Savio El-khoury donated $1000 on the night. To donate visite: au.gofundme.com/f/Castle-Hill-Rotary-Club
