3D printer service @ your library

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Kim Ford is pleased to announce the arrival of the Makerbot 3D Printer at Hawkesbury Central Library, Windsor, which is available for all library members to use.

“You can create your own design or download a pre-made model online,” Mayor Ford said.

“3D printing is the process of creating a three dimensional object from a digital model, by building up layer upon layer of solid material.”

Simply bring your 3D model into the Library on a USB flash drive. Your model must be saved in the .stl or .obj file format to be compatible with the printer.

Use of the 3D printer is currently $10 for the first 20 grams and then 0.20c for each gram after that. The price includes the cost of all materials. The 3D printer service is only available at the Hawkesbury Central Library, Windsor, not at Richmond Branch Library.
