Free Tax Help 2016 @ Your Library

Hawkesbury Library Service, in association with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), will be providing Tax Help every Wednesday from 3 August until 26 October 2016.

Tax Help is a network of community volunteers who provide a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns during tax time.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Kim Ford said Tax Help is suitable for people earning around $50,000 or less a year with fairly straightforward tax affairs.

“Volunteers are fully trained, accredited and supported by the ATO,” Mayor Ford explained.

“These volunteers are people from within the community who generously give up their time each year.

“They are not Australian Taxation Office staff, but they receive training and support from the ATO.” Call 132 861(ATO) to see if you are eligible, which depends on how much you earn and if your needs are straightforward. Appointments will be conducted at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street Windsor.

It is essential to arrange an appointment, as limited time slots are available. Please contact library staff on 4560 4460 to arrange an appointment.
