Record sales for Hawkesbury Art Fair

This year’s Hawkesbury Art Fair, held at the Regional Gallery from 4 November to 4 December, resulted in more than $10,000 worth of sales – a record for the event, which was held for the first time in 2014.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett commended the exhibiting artists on their contribution to the local economy.

“The Art Fair is a showcase for the diversity of creative people in this beautiful region”, the Mayor said.

“It is also an opportunity for local artists to sell their work and for residents and visitors to the area to buy original art from the region’s best-known and accomplished artists.

“I’m delighted that this year’s event was a winner on all three counts.”

Four special workshops held in conjunction with the Art Fair were also fully subscribed, including three workshops held by Hawkesbury jewellery designer, Jules Read, whose work is for sale in the Gallery shop, along with pieces by other local and regional artists.

“The Gallery shop continues as a year-round outlet for local artists’ work, and it’s perfect for Christmas shopping or just for a bit of retail therapy,” the Mayor said.

The 2017 Hawkesbury Art Fair will be held Friday, 8 September to Sunday, 8 October.

The Gallery is located in the Deerubbin Centre (1st floor), 300 George Street Windsor, phone 4560 4440
