RAY WILLIAMS FAILS CASTLE HILL MUMS & DADS REGARDING SAFE SCHOOLS PROGRAM
Castle Hill MP, Ray Williams has badly let down mums and dads across the electorate regarding the highly discredited Safe Schools program. He has taken no action to address the concerns of parents with respect to their children being exposed to radical sexuality and gender ideology under the guise of an anti-bullying program.
Labor MLC, Greg Donnelly said the Safe Schools program from its inception was always about promoting radical sexuality and gender ideology.
“That’s not my opinion, it’s the stated intention of one of the program’s original architects, Roz Ward. You can see Ward making this claim on a short 2014 YouTube clip.
“Instead of banning the program as it should, the Berejiklian Government is gently and quietly encouraging its spread across NSW public schools”, Greg Donnelly said.
“Last year up until 8th July, mums and dads could go to the Safe Schools website and see if the school they sent their children to was participating in the program. Then, on 8th July 2016 it all went mysteriously blank. The list of schools disappeared from the website and has not been seen since. At the time of being taken down there were 121 public schools across NSW that were listed as having joined the Safe Schools program.
“Since then, I have done everything I can to obtain the list of schools participating in the program including asking Questions on Notice in the Legislative Council and making a GIPA (freedom of information) application, without success.
“The Minister and the Department of Education are refusing to release this basic information. They are treating mums and dads with contempt”, said Greg Donnelly.
“Parents, as the primary educators of their children, have a fundamental right to know what is being taught to their kids at school. It is shameful that they are being kept in the dark.
“As Castle Hill MP, Ray Williams has an obligation to listen to parents and act in their best interests”, Greg Donnelly said.
“There are a number of public schools right across the Castle Hill electorate. Ray Williams has done nothing to address parental concerns about the Safe Schools program. Indeed, his silence speaks volumes. He is choosing not to act and is therefore giving the nod to our children being exposed to radical sexuality and gender ideology.
“I encourage all concerned parents to not give up and keep speaking out on this matter. I have literally received thousands of emails from concerned mums and dads from around the state including the Castle Hill electorate. This matter will not just disappear. Parents need to continue to push back hard against the Safe Schools program and I will do what I can to support them”, said Greg Donnelly.
