Puppets on parade at Orange Blossom Festival

The Hills Shire Council’s Community Grants program recognises the valuable services community organisations provide to the local community.

One of 2016’s successful grant recipients was local street theatre company, Circus Solarus. Circus Solarus is committed to transforming the everyday public space through street theatre, large visual imagery and community projects.

One of the exciting projects that Circus Solarus is currently undertaking is a giant parade puppet project with 3 local community groups. The incredible puppets produced as part of this project will make an appearance in the Orange Blossom Festival Parade held at 2pm on Saturday 17 September at the Castle Hill Showground.

Don’t miss the Hills Chinese Association’s Warrior Empress puppet (based on a Beijing Opera costume), SydWest Multi-Cultural Women’s Group’s giant pram full of multi-cultural baby puppets & the Men’s Shed’s jiggling Pinocchio style puppet at the Orange Blossom Festival this September.
