A huge line-up for 2016 Sydney Blues and Roots Festival

Mark 27-30 October in your music festival diary now! The Sydney Blues and Roots Festival is nearly here with the biggest lineup of FREE acts to hit the stage at this year’s festival at Windsor.

Free events at Windsor will include The Rhythms Magazine Stage at the Hawkesbury Hotel, Blues On The Green @ The Windsor Bowling Club; The RRR Motorcycles Open Air Stage; Harmonica Ron’s Blues Lounge @ Windsor Bowling Club & Trentino’s on George.

Headline acts will include Blues guitarist extraordinaire CHRIS CAIN, a reformed STARS and HIPPOS, DIESEL, GAIL PAGE, CHASE THE SUN, MANNING WILSON SOUTHWELL BAND (singing the songs of Chain), MARIO MILLO (performing Four Moments, Epic iii & more) and RICK PRICE.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett said the festival “just gets bigger and better every year”.

“This will be an incredible year for the festival, now in its eight year, with the program featuring a great line- up of bands, and plenty of free entertainment for the local community and visitors alike,” she said.

“Following on the great success of the 2015 festival, and with the help of Council’s sponsorship, The Sydney Blues and Roots Festival will again throw its doors open to the public and make it free, with only the exception of some dinner/shows and blues cruises being ticketed.

“The festival features amazing local and global talent playing the best blues music in the world, so I encourage as many of you as possible to get out and about to enjoy this wonderful musical experience right here in the Hawkesbury,” the Mayor added.

“Council is proud to support the festival as the naming rights sponsor of the iconic Sydney Blues and Roots Festival, and it is great to see the local business community supporting the festival too.”

In addition to the free entertainment, there is a Blues Cruise on the Hawkesbury Paddlewheeler on the majestic Hawkesbury River from Windsor or the chance to Wine ‘n’ Dine with Stars or see Diesel at the

The Festival organisers, Peter Fricker & Dave Wilkins, will also make camping available at McQuade Park, Windsor – near the Windsor Function Centre where many special acts will be performing. Assembled tents will be available ready to use or book a site and bring your own tent.
