Local community groups, schools, households, charities and local businesses have been busy doing their big spring cleanouts so they can sell their trash and t this Saturday, 22 October as part of the 2016 Garage Sale Trail.
For the fourth year in a row, Council is proud to support the movement that allows over 10,000 garage sales across the country to be on one day.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett said it is one of the largest community and sustainability events in Australia.
“The Garage Sale Trail generates local economic activity, and it also provides residents and community organisations with a fun day of buying, selling and connecting with local people,” the Mayor said.
“It is also a novel way for residents to reduce waste and turn their trash into someone else’s treasure.”
‘So visit some garage sales in the Hawkesbury this Saturday, and grab a bargain or two – it could changeyour mind on what is waste and what can be reused.”
