The Hills Shire’s New Year’s Eve celebrations set to dazzle audiences

The Hills Shire will welcome in the New Year with a Main Street party like no other.

Residents and visitors to this year’s sky show will welcome 2017 with an action-packed New Year’s Eve party on Castle Hill Main Street.

Last year up to 4,000 people turned up to cheer in 2016, and Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane, said this year they were expecting even more people to attend the flourishing event.

“The Sydney Hills’ New Year’s Eve event is perfect for those who don’t want the hassle of travelling into the city,” Mayor Keane said.

“With loads of family-friendly entertainment, activities for children, a dazzling light and sound show, a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and an easier journey home, families can welcome in 2017 right here in The Hills.”

Entertainment includes DJ sets from Kombi Bar and a live telecast of the 9pm and midnight Sydney fireworks.

Mayor Keane said this year’s New Year’s Eve Sky Show promises to be unique and impressive.

“This year people can enjoy a new and improved sound and light show,” Mayor Keane said.

“Be sure to bring a picnic rug, grab a spot under the glittering lights and welcome in the New Year in style with family and friends,” she added.

Revellers also won’t go hungry on the night, with many Main Street Castle Hill restaurants and food vendors extending their trading hours.
