2019 has been a big year for the Hills to Hawkesbury Community News.
We have changed our name to reflect what we are: a community publication dedicated to supporting the community we all live in.
Our fortnightly publication is not run to make a profit but to provide a platform for community groups, not for profit organisations, and social enterprises in Hills and Hawkesbury area to showcase what they do.
It is our mission to connect our community .. this our gift to you, our loyal readers and advertisers.
One reader read our story on the Lisa Harnum Foundation’s move to try and save it’s transitional housing option for women facing domestic abuse which was due to close due to lack of funds.
Her family’s foundation is now paying the rent to secure the future of the refuge for the next three years.
The other organisations and events we have actively supported this year include:
Hills Community Aid, The Women’s Shed-Hills Shire, Community Migrant Resource Centre, Guide Dogs NSW, Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter, Positive Vibes Foundation, Hills Relay For Life, Foster Care Angels, The Lisa Harnum Foundation, Destiny Rescue, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Riding For The Disabled, North West Disability Services, Fly High Billie, Warrah, Jersey Day, StreetMed, Hills Winter Sleepout, St Gabriel’s, SES, RFS and Inala.
We have supported several other charity events plus numerous service clubs.
We would like to thank our advertisers for enabling us to connect our community and to our readers for their loyal support. Have a healthy and safe Christmas and New Year.
