COCO YOUTH

A youth group aimed at 16 to 24-year-olds has been launched under the wing of The Hills Women’s Shed with Hills Shire Youth Ambassador Reshmi Niriella at its helm.

The founding president, a Year 11 student at Pacific Hills Christian School, said she was excited about the potential of the group.

“We aim to host events to cater for youth such as a quarterly movie night and a book club.

“We are also keen to get involved with charity work and work with other youth groups.”

She said the group had been established under the Hills Women’s Shed to create a platform for youth in the Hills to come together to network.

“I would like to call on the youth of the area in the age group 16-26 to register your interest in becoming a part of the youth group by emailing us [email protected].”

Dr Padmini Howpage President of The Hills Women’s Shed said she and the executive team were pleased with the opportunity of mentoring “tomorrow’s leaders today”.

She said there were plans to hold a focus group on Coco Youth in September to generate ideas and reach put to other youth groups in the area.
