CARE ONE CARE ALL

The Care One Care All Group (COCAG) working alongside Turbans for Australia has been delivering much needed goods to fire and drought devastated areas over the past few months.

The group’s fourth bushfire relief package was delivered last Saturday, January 11 to the South Coast.

Two semi-trailer loads of bottled water and a truck load of groceries, toiletries, hygiene products and tools were dropped off in the towns of Milton, Mogo, Naroomba, Cobargo and Bermugai for those in need. Volunteers also set up a langar (a community kitchen) in Milton.

Care One Care All Group Chairman, Dr Parmjit Singh told the local community that it is a part of Sikh philosophy to support all humans.

He was quoted by SBS News saying: “We feel pain for our brothers and sisters in the bush, we feel pain for the poor animals and creatures that have died … We are trying to do whatever we can.”

The week before, the organisations carried out a Bushfire Run delivering a semi-trailer of bottled water and groceries to Nowra and Ulladulla area.

The two teams also paired up at the end of last year to deliver a Drought Run to Armidale, and a Bushfire Run to Coffs Harbour and Tenterfield in the mid North Coast.

“It has been a long run from start to finish, but very satisfying when hearing beautiful comments from our brothers and sisters in need,” said Dr Singh.

“We met so many nice people in the bush and they were so thankful to see us amongst them that I do not have words to express.

“There have been so many challenges, but the love from people gives us strength to overcome the obstacles. May God bless us with the strength to do more of such service of the beautiful community in the bush at this hour of need”.

The organisation’s services are primarily dedicated towards care of destitute, orphans, widows and other needy (poorest of poor) & homeless in Australia and India.
