Arcadian Quilters

“With just one week to go, the members of the Arcadian Quilters’ Group are well into the final preparations for their Biennial Quilt Show.

It takes a great deal of hard work and commitment to put on a show like this and Arcadian Quilters are very experienced in producing an exhibition with great appeal for those who appreciate the art. There will be over 100 quilts exhibited, with some for sale, as well as a beautiful raffle quilt, tickets for which will be available at the show. The proceeds from our show support our community activities. We make and supply quilts to nursing homes, to local charities, the Galston, Health, Community and Resources Centre, and quilts for Aussie Heroes, where quilts are sent to men and women serving in our armed forces.

The show will be held at the Galston Community Hall at 37 Arcadia Road, Galston, on Saturday and Sunday, 7th and 8th September, from 9am to 4pm both days. There will be trade tables, and refreshments available.

The cost for adults is $5 and free for children. So do come along and enjoy the quilts displayed. The quilters will be happy to share their knowledge and answer any questions. We welcome new members to join our happy band of stitchers, so if you are interested in creating a quilt yourself,or a cushion, a bag or perhaps a table runner, please come along and chat to one of the ladies. Or just come along to enjoy the great variety of quilts. The raffle quilt (pictured) is a fine example of a Baltimore style bed quilt, a wonderful prize to win. We also gratefully acknowledge the support of our sponsors, the Bendigo Bank.”
