Western Sydney’s newest community designed for connecting.

After three years spent revitalising and reimagining its ageing services in Westmead, Uniting has welcomed the first residents at the newest multi-generational community.

On Wednesday 7 October, residents moved from the existing Mayflower Westmead residential aged care home into the new 114-place aged care home. A sense of anticipation filled the air as the residents travelled over to the new home, supported by staff. After enjoying some light refreshments in the café, the residents spent the afternoon taking in the features of their home and settling in.

“The move marked a very special milestone in the history of our services here at Westmead,” said Marilyn Jolly, Head of Residential Operations Sydney North West.

Designed with the latest thinking in aged care, Uniting Westmead brings together retirement living, in-home care services, assisted living options, residential aged care, an early learning centre and a seniors gym, café, chapel, all on one convenient campus. Uniting Westmead will be a welcoming place for catching up with family, friends and neighbours.

“This innovative new campus is a first for Uniting,” said Greg Murphy, Campus Manager. “The community has been designed for connecting and we’re thrilled to have finally opened the doors.”
