The Iris Society of Australia NSW Annual Show celebrates its 58th year showcasing the floral diversity of Iris

The NSW Iris Show is an annual highlight for NSW garden lovers with its stunning displays of Iris from across the world, including traditional Old World and newer Bearded Iris, graceful Dutch Iris, exotic Crested Iris from China, flamboyant Japanese Iris, exquisite Californian Pacific Coast Iris, vibrant water loving Louisiana iris and delicate Virginica Iris as well as other fascinating Iridaceae.

President Barbara Levy commented “I look forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors from across NSW to this exciting celebration of iris. The display will be spectacular, with the annual Championship Show attracting around 200 exhibits from dedicated home gardeners to world recognised growers.”

Visitors can purchase a wide selection of iris from specialist growers, browse the cottage plants and gift stalls, have their iris questions answered and vote for their favourite exhibit, and then sit back and take in the spectacle while enjoying Devonshire teas, provided by QUOTA.

Exhibiting at the show is free and open to all, and there are some great prizes to be won. Exhibitors will be eligible for major awards including Best Exhibit in Show, Best Bearded Iris, Beardless Iris, Blooms, Best Junior and Novice, Collection of Iris, Potted Iris, Decorative & Floral Art, Craft/ Art and Photography.

The prestigious Banksia Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society, London, will be awarded to Most Successful Exhibitor.

Schedules are now available for download on the Society’s website www.irissocietynsw. org.au and click on ‘Show’.
