Geranium Man Guest Speaker at October Bromeliad Meeting

At the next meeting of the Bromeliad Society of Australia being held on Saturday, 14 October at the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground, Castle Hill the guest speaker will be the very entertaining and informative Geranium Man. Sale of plants from 11am with the meeting commencing at 12noon and everyone is welcome.

Geranium Man will talk about the best positions to grow geraniums, fertilising and watering and the best varieties with longlasting flowering. Geraniums are perfectly suited for todays gardens as they provide instant colour with potted plants being very “in” at the moment with home decorators.

He will also cover the best time to prune geraniums and how hard to prune the best types of potting mixes for geraniums.

There will be an opportunity for members and their guest to purchase geraniums from the Geranium Man at the meeting.

Geraniums are known for their drought and heat tolerance, but also for foliage and perfumed flowers. If you’ve visited any of the Mediterranean countries you will usually see Geraniums everywhere brightening up courtyards and balconies.

BSA meetings include plant sales, club news, raffles and competitions as well as providing an opportunity to meet with like-minded people in a friendly and inviting environment. Contact Ian Hook – mobile 0408202269, email: [email protected] Website: www.bromeliad.org.au
