New Seniors Festival on the Hawkesbury horizon

Hawkesbury seniors will be thankful to hear that Council’s Library Service has won a 2016 NSW Seniors Festival grant from the Department of Family and Community Services.

Hawkesbury Library Service will put the grant towards a special Seniors Week 2016 program, ‘So you think The Seniors Festival, coordinated by your local Library, will offer local seniors a chance to try a variety of dance and movement classes to encourage them to keep moving and stay healthy.

Classes will include Zumba Gold, Heart Moves (gentle exercise); Tai Chi, Ballroom Dancing and FreestyleStretching. Light refreshments will also be provided.

Hawkesbury Mayor, Councillor Kim Ford encourages our seniors to join the celebrations and enjoy the free “This is a great chance for seniors of The Hawkesbury to laugh, learn and be inspired,” he said.

The free events will be held during Seniors Week 1-10 April 2016 at Hawkesbury Central Library, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street in Windsor.
