Share the Christmas Cheer @ your Library

Come along to Hawkesbury Central Library, Windsor for a Christmas morning tea while enjoying the sounds of local music groups on Tuesday, 6 December at 10am.

Children will also be able to join in the Christmas themed stories, songs and craft from 11am. Puddles, the Reading Dragon will also make a guest appearance at Preschool Story Time.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett will officially launch the 2016 Mayoral Christmas Appeal at the Christmas event.

“This will be the fifth year the Mayoral Christmas appeal will be partnering with the Rotary Club of Richmond’s Tree of Joy Appeal,” the Mayor said.

“I am calling on all Hawkesbury residents to help us collect more gifts this year. What better way to spread Christmas cheer than a donation to families who may be struggling this Christmas.

“Let’s all pitch in to help improve the lives of our fellow residents at this special time of year.”

Collection boxes and tags will be available from Hawkesbury Central Library and Richmond Branch Library from Monday, 21 November 2016. Gifts may also be donated to the Mayoral Christmas Appeal on the day of the launch as tags will be available.

The Mayoral Christmas Appeal is run in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Richmond’s very successful program which has provided thousands of gifts to less fortunate residents of the Hawkesbury over the last 15 years.

There will be three collection points for the Mayoral Christmas Appeal. Gift tags and gift collection boxes will be located at:

 Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street Windsor
 Windsor Central Library, Deerubbin Centre (Ground Floor), 300 George St, Windsor
 Richmond Branch Library, 29 West Market Street, Richmond.

Contributions are welcome for children and adults of all ages. Gift tags will be available at collection points or you can add your own.

Presents should be delivered to the collection points by Friday, 16 December 2016 to allow time for the gifts to be distributed prior to Christmas.
