NEW ERA FOR CHAMBER

Sonja Palic is the new Chair of Sydney Hills Business Chamber, the first woman to head the business organisation in its 28 year history.

2020 herald in a new era for the awardwinning business chamber with 70 per cent of the 10-member board women.

Sonja Palic is chairman, Kerrie Sheaves is acting deputy chair. Other board members are Anna Ford, Nicole Brooke, Sue Tsigaros, Bill Elmer, Farid L Zaki, David Ferris, Sarah Eltakchi and Lielette Calleja.

Outgoing chairman Nigel Rayner welcomed in the new era saying it would be an amazing year ahead. Sydney Hills Business Chamber now has 436 members.

It won the Western Sydney Regional Award for best Chamber. The Sydney Hills Business Chamber has won the regional award four times, three years in succession.

Mrs Palic told the Hills to Hawkesbury News: “I am so honoured and humbled to be the Chairman of the Sydney Hills Business Chamber and first woman in 28 years.

“As we move to a new decade in 2020 we have a strong, positive and active Board with experience and skills across all industry sectors.

“Our aim as a Board is to be a friendly and vibrant Chamber where members and visitors can connect and grow their networks and businesses with other forward thinking and like minded people.

“One of our key goals is for member engagement, and we continue to drive this continued successful initiatives such as MyBoard, CWIB, CEO lunches, YOHU, Leadership Lunch, Women’s boardroom Lunches as well more collaboration with other larger organisations.”
