Metro Walks

With lockdown lifted, now is the perfect time to try out a new scenic walk, and discover The Hills from station to station.

And to help you decide which walk to try out first, The Hills Shire Council has released three videos to give you a glimpse of what you can expect to see on the newly launched Metro Walks – The Farm Walk, The Wetlands Wildlife Walk and Woodlands Walk.

• The Farm Walk (Norwest to Bella Vista Stations):
The 4.4-kilometre walk begins at Norwest Station and takes you through to historic Bella Vista Farm, which was instrumental in the development of the Australian pastoral and agricultural industries in the nineteenth century. The walk can take between one to two hours to complete and can be broken down into smaller walks.

• The Wetlands Wildlife Walk (Bella to Norwest Stations)
The 4.4-kilometre walk takes you to a number of small lakes and creeks lines, where you can see plenty of birdlife and local wildlife, as well as between Norwest and Bella Vista Metro Stations. The walk can take one to two hours to complete, and can also be broken down into smaller walks.

• Woodlands Walk (Kellyville to Rouse Hill Station Walk)
The 4.1-kilometre walk begins at Kellyville Metro Station and takes you through remnants of the Cumberland Plain Woodland and River-Flat Eucalypt Forest, as well as Caddies Creek and Strangers Creek, which are both tributaries of the Hawkesbury River.
