MEET GREG DUNN

Bella Vista Farm couldn’t do without the help of its Friends.

Hills Shire Council gives financial backing to Bella Vista but without the Friends giving their time and energy to the farm, it could have fallen into disrepair.

One of those is Greg Dunn, known as Mr Fixit. His passion is poetry and music, which began early.

As a boy at Marist Bros. Auburn, Greg sang in the school choir. His grandmother always listened to the ABC and introduced him to the music of Richard Tauber and Peter Dawson.

He loves to sing at many functions in his bold baritone and has often been MC for the Bella Vista Carols.

Greg recently retired as Managing Director of the Australian branch of an international manufacturing company. He started writing poetry to pass the time when he got caught in traffic going to work.

He has now written 100 poems, many of which have been published. Why volunteering? Greg likes giving back to society – and having fun! He has been a Lions Club volunteer since 1995, holding several senior roles.

Greg and his wife, Judith Dunn OAM, a prominent Historian, have been active Bella Vista Friends for many years. They have been married for 55 years.

Greg says wryly: “The older I get, the more Judith is interested in me!”

Friends of Bella Vista Farm would like to meet anyone who has an interest in history and wants to serve the community.
