Major Milestone Reached on Memorial Avenue Upgrade

A key component of the $224 million upgrade of Memorial Avenue between Blacktown and Castle Hill is closer to completion with the installation of the beam for the new Strangers Creek Bridge.

The bridge over Strangers Creek will be the first of two bridges that will be constructed as part of the upgrade.

The upgrade is being delivered in two stages, with Stage 1 providing a new road on the southern side of the existing Memorial Avenue between Old Windsor Road and Hector Court, and on the northern side between Hector Court and Windsor Road.

The first of the twin bridges over Strangers Creek will be built during Stage 1 and after this bridge is completed, traffic will be realigned onto this bridge and new road while Stage 2 is built.

Due to the wet weather the completion date has been pushed out to mid-2024.
