Robyn Preston MP invites RSL sub-branches, community groups, schools and Councils across Hawkesbury to apply for a grant to restore or repair a local war memorial including statues, honour rolls and memorial halls which commemorate the Anzac legacy through the Community War Memorials Fund. Grants of up to $2,000 can also be considered for activities that support the wellbeing of veterans through the Anzac Community Grants Programme. As a further reassurance of the NSW Government’s commitment to protecting people, property, animals and the bush, a new $26.3 million dollar 737 Large Air Tanker (LAT) will be permanently based at the Richmond RAAF Base. The Marie Bashir LAT, named in honour of former Governor of NSW – Professor The Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD, CVO, is a specially commissioned plane that can drop 15,000 litres of fire suppressant and can also carry 72 firefighters.
As part of the NSW Government’s further commitment to the safety of our community, Brigade Captains from Wilberforce, St Albans and Ebenezer recently accepted the keys to three vehicles worth more than $370,000.
Farmers have rights too and the recently introduced legislation by the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government which is due to be considered by the Legislative Council shortly, introduces the toughest penalties in Australia including up to three years jail time for anyone trespassing on a farmer’s property. This is more proof that this State Government recognises an individual’s rights through the “Right to Farm” legislation.
