LEND A HAND AND HELP CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA update news

Clean Up Australia Day will be held on Sunday, 5 March and the Mayor of Hawkesbury City Council, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett, is encouraging Hawkesbury residents to join a team or register a site for Clean Up Australia Day.

“Hawkesbury residents are very enthusiastic every year, getting out there to help on Clean Up Australia Day. Each year the participation rate grows and I am sure 2017 will be the biggest year in history”, Councillor Lyons-Buckett said.

2016 was a very successful year for the event. More than 750,000 volunteers removed an estimated 16,000 tonnes of rubbish from 8,205 sites across Australia. It is hoped these numbers will increase in 2017.
