Hawkesbury City Council appoints new General Manager

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett announced today that Council, at its Ordinary Meeting held on Tuesday, 14 March 2017, has resolved to appoint Mr Peter Conroy as its new General Manager.

Mr Conroy has more than 30 years’ experience working in Local Government and held executive management roles at Leichhardt Council and Campbelltown City Council. His last role was as the Director Planning and Infrastructure at Willoughby City Council which he has held since 2015.

Mayor Lyons-Buckett said she was looking forward to building a strong relationship with Mr Conroy.

“I would like to congratulate Peter on his appointment. It is an exciting time to join our Council,” she said.

“There are many opportunities in the Hawkesbury for the local community, visitors and businesses and with Peter’s experience he is well placed to lead Council operations.

“There was a keen interest in the position with applications from a field of high quality candidates. The depth of Peter’s experience in senior management roles in Local Government will be a great addition to the Council and its staff.”

Mr Conroy will officially start his new role as General Manager on Monday, 1 May 2017.
