HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE PROPOSED CHANGES TO SUBURBS AND BOUNDARY ALIGNMENTS IN THE HILLS

The Hills Shire Council is inviting residents to have their say in the renaming and changes to suburbs in The Hills.

With more houses being built, rapid population growth and the construction of significant state infrastructure including the Sydney Metro Northwest, Council is proposing to realign suburb boundaries and create two new suburbs in the Kellyville, Bella Vista and Baulkham Hills areas.

The names for these new suburbs are North Kellyville and Norwest.

Hills Shire residents can now view the draft plans for these changes at Council Chambers, Castle Hill Library, Vinegar Hill Memorial Library or Baulkham Hills Library, as well as on the Council website (www.thehills.nsw.gov.au).

Residents are encouraged to put forward a submission to express their opinion on the alterations by Friday 17 March 2017.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane said she was encouraging residents to have their say on the proposed changes.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved and to have input into the proposed suburbs and new boundary alignments,” Mayor Keane said.

“The proposed changes reflect our Shire’s growth and recognise the emergence of North Kellyville and Norwest as their own distinct communities.
