GARAGE SALE TRAIL

There is still time to register to join the great Garage Sale Trail which kicks off next weekend, October 19 and 20.

More than 50 homes in the Hills have already signed up including Pete Chamberlain in Merrilong St, Castle Hill.

He will have tables of quirky and retro items for sale on both Saturday and Sunday next weekend from 8am to 2pm. The treasures include collectors’ items such as comics, old toys including Lego sets still in boxes, vinyl records ,surfboards, bicycles and even a prosthetic leg.

“I like to recycle. If I can repair something I will. They don’t become landfill … they live another life,” said Mr Chamberlain. “Everything is priced to sell,”

Hills Shire Mayor, Dr Michelle Byrne, said she loved the idea of recycling pre-loved items and is encouraging people to map out a tour of garage sales happening within the Shire, including sales at Bella Vista, Kellyville, Kenthurst, Middle Dural and many other places.

“It also provides a great way to meet your neighbours, connect with your local community, whilst decluttering, recycling and raising money for yourself or local causes,” she added.
