FOOD FOR THOUGHT – BELLA VISTA HOTEL

Chef Alessandro Benini who hails from Livorno in Toscana Italy, a region renowned for its wine and food, has taken the helm at Woodfire pizza the new Italian eatery, La Stella, at the Bella Vista Hotel.

Alessandro grew up cooking with his Nonna and Mamma which made him realise his passion for Italian cuisine and the magic art of pizza making. After learning from the best in Napoli, Alessandro travelled to Australia to find a place he could share his passion and give people an authentic Italian experience. Italy’s loss was Bella Vista’s gain.

Using special techniques and most importantly the right ingredients including flour from Napoli, San Marzano tomatoes, quality cheese and simple authentic toppings he is gathering fans.

“I have created authentic woodfire pizza recipes that I truly believe, paired with our antipasti offering, will take people on a delicious journey,” he said.

The authentic woodfired pizzas are cooked in the dazzling wood fired signature Stefano Ferrara Forni oven. The antipasti small plates feature Italian grazing favourites specially designed to be paired with the pizzas and give an authentic Italian experience.

As well as opening La Stella the BellaVista Hotel now operates its own bottle shop, Fleet Street Merchants.

As well the wine, beer and spirits selection customers can also purchase delicatessen selections featuring all the favourite antipasto bites and speciality products, there is also an assortment of Bella’s bistro menu favourites to take-away plus authentic Italian pizzas.
