The puppies featured on the first edition of the Hills to Hawkesbury Community News this year. Mrs Tobin has been a volunteer puppy raiser with Guide Dogs NSW and ACT for several years and has looked after four puppies on a long term basis.

Puppy raisers teach puppies basic obedience and social skills and introduce them to the sights, sounds and smells they are likely to encounter as a working guide dog.

It costs $50,000 and takes two years to breed, raise and train one Guide Dog. To find out more about the program and to enquire about puppy raising visit guidedogs.com.au
