COMMUNITY GRANT

Grassroots community groups, including schools, can now apply for Sydney Water’s Local Community Grants Program, with over $80,000 up for grabs.

The program will award grants of up to $4,000 to groups who are already supporting their community through digital innovation initiatives; embracing diversity at a local level and demonstrating their commitment to protecting our environment.

Kerrie Sheaves, Support Director of the Hills group, Men in Action said of the grant they received in 2019: “Receiving Sydney Water’s grant was a terrific support enabling us to run our Fifth Annual Father Daughter Dance Project. The costs of running this type of event go up every year, but through the grant we were able to host 200 dads and daughters to enjoy a special night of building their relationships, at minimal cost to the attendees, which meant cost was no barrier for families to enjoy this activity.

“One of first time attendee Dads relayed to our volunteers on the night, that his eight-year-old daughter had told him it was the best night of her life! We are thankful to Sydney Water for partnering with us to positively impact the lives of local families.”

Online applications close on Friday 29 May, with recipients announced in late July.
