Aussies raise over $497,000 for Volunteer Fire Brigades & Emergency Services at Aussie Day Weekend Fundraiser BBQ

Thanks to the generosity of so many Australians, over $497,000 has been raised in support of volunteer fire brigades and emergency services through Bunnings’ annual Aussie Day Weekend Fundraiser BBQ, held nationally on Saturday 23rd January.

New South Wales residents helped raise over $130,000 and these funds will go directly to local State Emergency Services (SES) and Rural Fire Services (RFS).

Bunnings Managing Director John Gillam, said the Bunnings team was very pleased to show their support and appreciation for the amazing work these volunteers do.

“Thank you to everyone who bought a snag and contributed to this great cause. And a huge thanks also to all the fire brigade and emergency service volunteers as well as our team that grabbed a pair of tongs and helped run the BBQ’s,” John said.

Over 2000 team members and local volunteers ran more than 260 BBQ’s all over Australia.

The Aussie Day Weekend Fundraiser BBQ takes place annually at every Bunnings store nationally over the Australia Day weekend, with every cent raised going directly to local volunteer fire brigades and emergency services.
