A Passion for Fauna and Flora Photography
THE BROMELIAD SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA
The Bromeliad Society of Australia meets again on Saturday, 12th August at the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground, Showground Road, Castle Hill (off Doran Drive). Bromeliad sales to the public are from 10am with the meeting commencing at 12noon.
Guest speaker will be Glenn Smith, photographer. His presentation will cover the basics of Flora, Fauna and Fungi photography, and will include getting clean shots and the removal of distracting backgrounds taken with iPhones up to high-end digital cameras. Glenn is an amateur photographer who shoots mainly in the Australian Botanic Gardens, Mount Annan.
His interest in photography began at the age of ten, 46 years ago. He became more passionate about his hobby 9 years ago and won the NSW Canon Light Awards Photography Competition in 2018. Glenn has run photography workshops at Mount Annan Botanic Gardens since 2016 and spends many Saturdays attending to his two major projects; photographing the 197 bird species that visit the Botanic Gardens and completing a photographic record of the 4,000 native living flora collection in the gardens at Mount Annan.
