ZONTA SAYS NO

The Zonta International Club of Sydney Hills held its annual Say No to Domestic Violence dinner on Monday night.

Cheque presentations were made by the club to both the Lisa Harnum Foundation and The Sanctuary_the Hills women’s shelter, to help with their work helping victims of domestic abuse.

Founder of the Lisa Harnum Foundation Aileen Mountifield spoke about the 61 women who had been killed so far as a result of domestic violence. The figure was already outdated the next day.

The Lisa Harnum Foundation has set up a Safe Room where women can speak to trained a counsellor at Castle Towers shopping Centre, it now has a similar safe room in Ryde.
