We have seen an increase in funnel webs spiders dropped off at our front counter over the past week and want to remind our residents to take extra care while working in the garden.

Last week, we had a total of 12 spiders dropped off at our front counter. All these spiders were identified as funnel web, 5 males, 5 females and 2 juveniles. These spiders have now been relocated to the Australian Reptile Park for their spider venom program.

Hawkesbury City Council has been supporting this life-saving program for many years. Funnel-web spiders can be dropped off at our Administration Building at 366 George Street, Windsor, from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
