Remembrance Day Services

A number of Remembrance Day services were held across the Hills and Hawkesbury to commemorate 105 years since the end of World War 1, inspiring members of the community to honour the sacrifice of all those who have died protecting our country in wartime.

In The Hills, a service was held at Balcombe Heights Estate on Sunday November 5th in Thompson Hall, due to significant rainfall affecting the planned outdoor ceremony.

Nonetheless, the service was moving thanks to beautiful words from speakers like Hills Shire Mayor Peter Gangemi and numerous school students. Held in front of the War Memorial in Richmond Park, the Hawkesbury celebrated Remembrance Day on Saturday November 11th with an impressive turnout alongside the Richmond Markets. The Richmond RSL Sub-Branch conducted a wonderful ceremony, with a huge amount of wreaths laid by members of the community.
