Pet Blessing

An Pet Blessing will be held at Wesley Uniting Church, at Castle Hill at 3pm on Sunday September 11th and all pet owners are invited to attend.

Uniting Church Minister, Rev Carmel Ieraci has held animal blessings in both in Australia and in the UK while serving as a Minister and says animal blessings are an important expression of the Christian faith.

This week she spent time in Annangrove with Mike Smith and his horse Mango who are both missing Ab the Palamino.

“Just this week, Mike had to say goodbye to his dear friend, 30-year-old Ab …Mike and Ab would ride up to 10 days to raise funds for research into Multiple Sclerosis, “ said Carmel.

The loss is hard for Mango too who has spent 22 years alongside Ab whois believed to have been among horses trained for singer John Farnham who competed in professional Horse Cutting competitions.

Carmel spent time with Mango, and prayed a blessing of comfort for her and Mike, and peace for Ab.

The animal blessing will take place at 3pm on Sunday, September 11th at Wesley Uniting Church, 32 Showground Rd, Castle Hill. Please bring animals on leads and small animals in carriers or bring a photograph. Children are welcome to bring a soft toy or dress up as an animal for a special blessing.
