Over 30 Years of Serving Senior Citizens of The Hills

More than 30 years ago the organisation of National Seniors Australia started a branch in the Hills district. That branch now meets each month at the Baulkham Hills Sporting Club in Renown Rd., Baulkham Hills and after serving as President for the past eight years 89 year old Pat Hunt of Castle Hill, has stepped down from her role. Also having served eight years as Vice President, Epping resident, Robyn Goldman also stepped aside. Both were presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Pat spoke at the recent Annual General Meeting on her earlier life as a child in Wales and later as a College student in England and subsequently on her early married life of moving to Australia with a promise to members to tell of her later life in Australia The new Committee of National Seniors Australia Hills Branch contain some familiar names and faces to residents of the Hills and include Hilary Westman (President), Sandra Franks (Vice- President) which is also a position that she holds with the Hills Friendship Club at Castle Hill, Maree Jones (Secretary), Maree is also President of the Hills Friendship Club, (Treasurer) Sabrina Lee, (Assistant Treasurer), Wendy Head, (Newsletter Editor) Marilyn Stoneham, (Tours and Travel and also Monthly Outings) Ivor Jones. Ivor also performs the same duties at the Hills Friendship Club, (Welfare) Audrey Ritchie, (Hospitality) May Mills and (Speaker Seeker) Anna Robinson.

Serving Senior Citizens Over 30 Years of Serving Senior Citizens of The HillsTours and outings officer, Ivor Jones, is keen to sell the benefits of membership of the Hills Branch of National Seniors. Whilst National Seniors are well known for its advocacy and representation on behalf of Seniors to Federal and State Governments, it is also active in providing other activities to seniors including social activities.

The Hills branch hold regular social outings including bus outings, a luncheon group and interesting speakers at their monthly meetings. By attending the meetings you can make new friends and expand your social network. You may find others who share the same or similar interests to yourself. Membership of National Seniors can also provide you with discounted medical, health and travel insurance cover.

Anyone who would like to join National Seniors are welcome to attend one of their monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month at Baulkham Hills Sports Club at Renown Rd, Baulkham Hills at 9.30am for the meeting starting at 10am.
