Arcadian Quilting News

Seeing the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop to sport; the colourful Rings on that wonderfully familiar Olympic Flag; noting the Personal Best (PB) achievements of our talented athletes, seeing so many people enjoying the magic of those 15 days!!

The Arcadian Quilters were also busy … “achieving” a few PB patchwork projects … not quite gold in colour but bright, cheerful and welcoming.

This charming “houses quilt” makes the idea of packing-a-bag, finding a European hillside village and relaxing in the sunshine seem very appealing. Any one of those French villages seen during the Olympics would do!

Arcadian Quilters Showcase Bright and Cheerful Projects

Being surrounded by recent gloomy days seemed to call for light, bright and happy fabrics this month and another PBt was achieved by one of our newer members.

This is one of the group’s favourites, a scrappy quilt using the ‘Potato Chip block’ pattern. The term ‘scrappy’ simply means many different fabrics all in the one quilt.

Happily another new member joined our group this month, it’s always great to see new faces around our table where we share ideas and get-to-know someone new.

Our meetings are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month at 9.30am. Meetings are held at the Galston Community Centre, The Glade, Galston. For further information please call Carole on 9894 7749.
