Meet Leanne Jones – our Australia Day Ambassador

The Hills Shire Council is proud to announce Sky News anchor Leanne Jones will be our 2018 Australia Day Ambassador.

Leanne holds an impressive list of achievements, having worked across a variety of business programs including Trading Day, Business 360, The Final Count with Peter Switzer, Media Week, Your Career, Business Class and Sky News Live.

She graduated from Macquarie University with a double degree of Applied Finance and Commerce and has worked internationally in the business sector in the UK and France.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said The Hills Shire is extremely lucky to have Leanne as their Australia Day Ambassador.

“Leanne Jones is an inspiring woman,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Not only is she a leader in her profession, many people, especially young women, look up to her as a source of inspiration.

“It is a pleasure to have her as our Ambassador for such a great event.

“Australia Day is about coming together as a community and I can’t wait to celebrate with our residents at Bella Vista Farm,” Mayor Byrne added.

The Hills Shire Council’s Australia Day celebration will be held at Bella Vista Farm on Friday, January 26, from noon to 9pm.
