Green Thumbs

The Baulkham Hills Community Garden is blooming and there is an open invitation to visit one of the monthly gatherings held at Conie Ave Reserve on the second Sunday of the month at 2.30pm.

Set up by The Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville the Community Garden at 15 Conie Ave is everything the club hoped it would be.

Keith Stapley said: “I am surprised at the range of plants the members are growing and the quality and quantity being produced. “[There are] all sorts of vegetables and herbs, and given the cultural backgrounds of many of our members it is not surprising there are some I have not heard of before. There is a lot of swapping going on when there is a flush of produce.

Other members just seem to get great pleasure in growing their own fresh, organic food. And friendships have been formed, recipes exchanged and more.”
