Hawkesbury SES Thanks Community for Old Cars
The Hawkesbury SES have extended a huge thank you to the community for donating cars to assist and build their capabilities.
After a tough few weeks of training, Hawkesbury SES has 8 new Rescue Operators. The team have been put through their paces in responding to all types of road crash incidents using cars sourced from the local community.
Cars were placed on their side, roof or even on top of each other to simulate real road accidents. The SES members and trainees would then stabilise both car and patient before using heavy rescue tools such as the “jaws of life” to gain access and remove the injured person.
The Hawkesbury SES welcomes the newly trained operators who will start to respond to incidents from today.
Thank you also to Dave from Hawkesbury Towing Service for picking up and taking away the cars for free.
If you have an old car laying around and would like to donate it to us, please call Matt on 0438 676 688
