BNI Golf Day

Riding for the Disabled Tall Timbers is one of 10 charities that are being supported by the BNI (business network) golf day at Lynwood Country Club, Pitt Town on December 2nd.

Visitors are welcome to attend the day which will not only be a great day of golf but also a day to network with businesses owners and support local charities providing a range of services in the community.

MC for the day Bruce Manefield urged people to register for either the golf day or the lunch saying proceeds would be supporting charities that “provide amazing support services to families in this region”.

BNI Sydney North West set up a Charity Collective earlier this year to connect business.

Community with local not-for-profits. The charity Golf Day is its first event.

The Ambrose formatted golf day (shotgun) tees off between 7am and 8am. Cost for a team of 4 is $800 which includes breakfast, two golf carts, and lunch. Single price is $160 and if you don’t want to play golf but want to support the event, lunch is $80.

Executive Director BNI Sydney North West Rebecca Raad said it was a great way to support charities like StreetMed which provides street level first aid to the homeless and a food service and Love For Australia which provides a free supermarket in Seven Hills for families needing help.

Nicole King from RDA Tall Timbers, expressed her appreciation for all the business owners that have already registered for the day. “Your support means that our group of charities can extend our support services to even more people”

RDA Tall Timbers has been running therapeutic equine based programs for children with disabilities for 50 years. So far this year, 195 Participants have accessed services across all programs _ averaging 100 per week. It costs $1200 a year to run the program, there are also funds needed to feed the horses and maintain the facilities.

Other charities being supported by the event include Salvos Rouse Hill, Hills Relay For Life (cancer research and support programs), Positive Vibes Foundation (mental health initiatives), Freedom For Humanity (end modern slavery) and the Lisa Harnum Foundation (help for victims of domestic abuse).
