Woman Defrauded of More Than $1.2 Million in Sydney’s West.

Police Detectives have charged a woman after a business was defrauded of more than $1.2 million.

In August 2022, officers from Riverstone Police Area Command established Strike Force Karwin to investigate reports of alleged fraud committed against a Kings Park business.  Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Seven Hills about 9am on Friday 16 December 2022.  Detectives located several items relevant to the investigation, including electronic storage devices, documentation and a mobile phone.  These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

A short time later, investigators arrested a 44-year-old woman at the property, and she was taken to Riverstone Police Station.  She was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, forge Commonwealth document for person to accept as genuine, use forged Commonwealth document for person to accept, dishonestly obtain property by deception, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
Police will allege in court that the woman transferred $1.23 million from the business into a personal bank account between 2014 and July 2022.
It will also be alleged the woman created a fraudulent marriage certificate and Australian birth certificate and used these documents to spend these funds.
