Tree Planting Project to Beautify Samantha Riley Drive

State Government’s Emergency Services, Levy Increase. Have Your Say On The Hills Shire Plan 2023-2024!, Samantha Riley Drive

Council is proposing to plant additional trees along Samantha Riley Drive and residents are invited to have their say on the plans before the exhibition closes this Friday (17 November).

Council has obtained a $259,000 grant from the Greening Our City program through Local Government NSW and the Department of Planning and Environment to plant trees either side of Samantha Riley Drive between Brampton Drive and Glenhaven Road. The proposed plantings include Weeping Lilly Pilly, Water Gum and Lemon Scented Myrtle.

The exhibited draft plans also include extending the existing pathway network to include a full 1.5m or 2.5m footpath each side of Samantha Riley Drive between Brampton Drive and Foxall Road. This footpath work is not included in the current works under the Greening Our City grant, and will need to be funded by Council at a future date.

The proposed works are available for viewing and comment until this Friday the 17th of November at this website https://www.thehills.nsw.gov.au/…/Have-your-say-on

Following the completion of the public exhibition period Council will review all submissions, make any required design changes, and formally adopt the plan. The completion of the project site works is expected by the end of April 2025.
