Top Hills Relay’s Wrap and Rock

The Hills Relay For Life community organizing committee has been named Volunteer Committee of the Year by The Centre of Volunteering.

Img 9551 Top Hills Relay’s Wrap And RockThe award was presented to Hills Relay For Life chair Lisa Carruthers on Tuesday 23rd August at a ceremony at Castle Hill RSL. Lisa said she was incredibly proud of members of the hard-working committee.

“Every step we take is a step towards a cancer-free future.” The committee is now planning it’s 22nd annual Hills Relay For Life which will be held at Castle Hill Showground on May 19 2023 and raises money for the Cancer Council. Last year’s Hills Relay raised over $220,000 for Cancer research and support programs.

Wrapping
Hills Relay For Life volunteers will be running a gift wrapping stall for Fathers’ Day at Castle Towers shopping centre from Wednesday August, 31 to Saturday, September 3 during shopping hours. The wrapping station will be near on Level 3 near the Customer Service Desk. Wrapping is for a gold coin donation with all funds raised going to the Cance r Council.

Retro Disco
DJ Tony will be bringing back the sounds of the 70s and 80s at Castle Hill Bowling Club on Saturday 3rd September with ALL funds raised will be going to the Castle Council.

Tickets are $25 a head. There are lucky door prizes, raffles, and prizes for best retro costumes and more. It doesn’t matter if you prefer Dancing on Sunshine or Dancing on the Ceiling there will be music for everyone to enjoy.

Relay Retro Disco will be held at Castle Hill Bowling Club, 79 Castle St, Castle Hill. Saturday 3rd September, doors open at 7pm. Dress up, get down and boogie at this great community event. To book tickets email [email protected]

Dural & District Prostate Cancer Support Group are urging men to have their PSA levels tested.

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men In Australia. Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia says 24,217 Australian men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2022 and approximately 3,500 Australian men will die of Prostate Cancer in 2022. Men over the age of 50 or 40 with a family history of Prostate Cancer should: Talk to their doctor about testing for Prostate Cancer as part of their annual check-up.
