Exciting Boxing Lights Up The Hills
More than 1000 fans packed Bella Vista Hotel as some of the best amateur and female professional boxers slugged it out for titles in the biggest boxing night in the Hills.
Wanderer Promotions could not have hoped for a more raucous venue or higher quality boxing for their Warehouse Rumble as several up and coming fighters vied for state and national honour on the same card as the women’s WBA Oceania Super Featherweight bout.
NSW’s Sara Jalonen is the new WBA Oceania champion after defeating Jaki Toth in the headline fight. Jalonen won in a split decision in the thrilling 10-round contest.
In some of the other high-profile bouts, Nae Kisona defeated Keisha Mudaliar while Jayden Buan, Gennaro Colangelo, Alex Naman and Manuer Matet also emerged with their reputations enhanced.
Wanderer Promotions founder and promoter Ricky Colosimo said the competition was fierce and entertaining, with the fans lapping it up.
A former highly regarded amateur fighter himself, Colosimo said the first ever Warehouse Rumble is just the start of what he plans to be some of NSW and Australia’s best boxing competitions. The boxing event featured entertainment in true show biz fashion, heralding a new era in boxing in the Hills and across NSW.
“This was the first step in a much larger vision to make boxing a top tier sport in Australia,” Colosimo told the Hills to Hawkesbury Community News. “I want to show the transformative power boxing has on young men and women and change negative perceptions of it as it really does change lives for the better.
“We had more than 1000 people at the event & the energy & atmosphere was electric while the fights delivered. We are building up now to an even bigger event at our next show on August 1.
“We are looking forward to what is in store for Wanderer Promotions – everyone in the boxing industry is starting to take notice. It won’t be long before everyone in Australia is taking notice.”
