Presentations on Threatened Species Investigations in the Macdonald Valley
Participate in an upcoming informative talk featuring experts discussing threatened species in Hawkesbury, which will be held at The Pickled Wombat, St Albans, on Saturday, 13 April 2024.
The ‘Threatened Species Investigations in the Macdonald Valley’ session on Saturday will feature presentations prepared by experts and researchers, such as platypus expert Dr Michelle Ryan from Western Sydney University.
Dr Michelle Ryan is a Senior Lecturer in Ecology and Environmental Science at Western Sydney University and has continuously shared her expertise on platypus populations, researched their health, and found ‘Bluey, the shy platypus’ from Cattai Creek in 2023.
Hawkesbury-Nepean Landcare Network said: “Have lunch with us and come on a field trip to discuss the sustainable management of private land and to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about protecting our native flora and fauna.”
“We will be welcoming interested locals, NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust and Land for Wildlife conservation agreement-holders and any other nature enthusiasts to this event,” the organisation mentioned.
The four-hour workshop will run from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and will feature the following topics:

- Threatening issues
- Restoring habitat for threatened species
- How to mitigate negative impacts
