‘Tall Trees’ Metro Walk

BREATHE IN THE SOOTHING SMELL OF EUCALYPTUS ON THE TALL TREES WALK!

Starting at Rouse Hill Metro station, this circuit will guide you through the riparian valley of Smalls Creek, along which tall eucalyptus trees preside.

Along with paperbarks, eucalyptus trees are the only bird-pollinated trees on earth that form large forests, and wattlebirds and lorikeets are important pollinators of their flowers.

A number of other bird species can be seen on this walk near the lake right near Rouse Hill Town Centre as well as Caddies Creek, including Wood Ducks, Hardheads, Pied Cormorants, Darters and more.

Walk past the former house of ex-convict John Seath, who was a founding member of the Hawkesbury

Agricultural Society and also owned the nearby Royal Oak Inn (now known as The Fiddler).

This easy walk takes approximately three hours to complete and is mostly on paved paths that are pram and wheelchair friendly.
