Living Stories: Western Sydney Writing competition

Hawkesbury Library Service has again teamed up with WestWords as part of the WestLit Libraries to bring the Living Stories Western Sydney Writing competition Prize 2022 to all the budding writers among you.

With an overall prize pool of over $10,000, this is a great opportunity to tell your Western Sydney story responding to the theme THINGS Unsaid. Your poem, story or personal essay will be judged locally, with category winners going on to view for the overall prize. Categories are 10-12 years, 13-15 years, 16-18 years, and adults (18+).

This writing competition is for residents of Western Sydney and closes Sunday, 1 May at midnight.  Entries can only be submitted online at www.westwords.com.au and for more information contact WestWords on 1800 WESTWORD or by email [email protected]

Sydney Writing CompetitionLiving stories: The Workshops

With such a large-scale writing prize on offer why not attend a workshop to enhance your writing skills and confidence?  Westword and WestLit Libraries, as part of the 2022 Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize, are offering free 90-minute creative writing workshops at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street Windsor.

Numbers for these free workshops are limited and priority will be given to participants from the Hawkesbury region. The content is customised to specific age groups.

10-12 years Tuesday, 12 April from 10am – 11:30am

12-16 years Wednesday, 13 April from 2pm – 3:30pm

17+ Tuesday, 19 April from 6pm – 7:30pm
