Splash in at the Free Pool Party at Richmond Swimming Centre

Free entry to the pool, free entertainment, free sausage sizzle and a great way to cool down, what more do you need to join Richmond Swimming Centre in seeing out the end of Summer on Saturday, 16 February?

So slap on your hats, sunscreen and swimmers and meet your friends at the pool for a family fun day from 11am to 3pm.

Fun activities will include a jumping castle, a giant water slide, and free giveaways for kids too!

Located at East Market Street, Richmond, the Richmond Swimming Centre includes a shaded baby pool, an intermediate pool, a six lane Olympic pool and change rooms as well as a shaded children’s playground.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert, said it will be a great way for the community to connect and share in the poolside fun. “Hawkesbury City Council has waived the entry fee at the pool for the celebrations,” Councillor Calvert said. “I’m sure this free community event will be a great way for everyone to celebrate not only the end of summer, but the year of Richmond Swimming Centre’s 55th birthday!”

The kiosk will also be in operation as usual with ice cream, food and refreshments available to purchase.

Richmond Swimming Centre was officially opened on 3 October 1964 and since then it has received several upgrades to enhance the water quality and filtration levels. Other additions include a half-court basketball area, a change room upgrade, and picnic areas. The Centre is open seven days from September to April and is a great venue for sport and recreation. So cool off at the pool throughout this hot weather, and make the most of this great community facility.

Richmond Swimming Centre also offers after school swimming lessons during school term and School Holiday Intensive Sessions during the summer school holidays. Birthday parties, club nights and squad sessions are also available.
